What is CBD?

Also known as CBD, cannabidiol is changing the landscape of uses today offering groundbreaking benefits for many ailments that people face today. From a little-known cannabinoid long shunned by the cannabis community, to a potential breakthrough nutritional component and wellness product that could benefit everyone.

CBD is found throughout the seeds, stalk, and flowers of cannabis plants — including hemp and marijuana. Unlike many of the 100+ cannabinoids that we are currently aware of, cannabidiol naturally occurs in significant quantities in cannabis, so it is easily extracted from the plant in the form of cannabis oil.

Why is CBD so effective?

The reason that CBD is such an effective form of support for human health is due to the body’s endogenous cannabinoid system. This regulatory structure of the body has millions of cannabinoid receptors in the brain and nervous system, which react not only to plant-derived cannabinoids (such as hemp and marijuana) but also to natural cannabinoids produced within our body. When hemp-derived CBD is used and processed by the body, it is effectively boosting the function of the endocannabinoid system, helping our body regulate itself in many different ways.

Our bodies are in balance when we are in Homeostasis. CBD has the ability to modulate the transcription of mare than 1,100 genes which make the signaling molecules that naturally reduce inflammation in our central nervous system and throughout our immune system. This actually restores Homeostasis to both our immune and central nervous systems, bringing everything into balance.

The Legality of Hemp-Derived CBD

CBD is legal if we are talking about hemp-derived CBD. The keyword here is “hemp-derived.” Because CBD from hemp has no psychoactive effects, the purchase, sales, or possession of hemp CBD products are completely legal in all 50 States.

Because hemp is sometimes confused with the marijuana plant, there is still some stigma towards hemp-derived CBD, but from a legal perspective, hemp-derived CBD is completely legal and enjoys the rights of any other legal product.
